For a truly relaxing break away from the hectic and dreary nine-to-five, there’s no better plan than spending some time rejuvenating amidst the spring blooms. Whether you’re a veteran gardener, an enthusiastic watcher of Spring Watch or simply want a break from the grey of winter, there are plenty of beautiful destinations to choose from.

So, if you’re looking at a countryside escape or hot tub holidays in the UK, read on for our picks of some of the best places in the UK to enjoy some stunning floral displays.

Kew Gardens, London

Even if you’re looking to get away from the grey of the city, there’s no denying that Kew Gardens offer one of the most beautiful collections of plants in the UK. This wouldn’t really be a list of spring beauty spots without including it!

One of Kew’s biggest spring draws is its iconic Cherry Walk. Enjoy a stroll beneath the canopy of pink and white blossoms of the Japanese cherry trees. It might not be quite the same as the flood of cherry blossom seen in Tokyo, but it’s sure to banish the memory of winter anyway.

While you’re in the gardens, be sure to also take the time to explore the Temperate House, which features an impressive collection of flowering plants from around the globe.

Exbury Gardens, Hampshire

Famous for its world-class collection of azaleas and rhododendrons, it’s impossible to deny the botanical delights of Exbury Gardens. This woodland garden was first conceived in the early 1900s and has now celebrated more than a hundred years of beautiful blooms.

You’re in for a serious treat as you explore just some of the 200 acres of woodlands and gardens, with spring bringing an explosion of camellias, daffodils, magnolias and many other flowers. Though, of course, the real stars are the magnificent rhododendrons, which feature a variety of hues from soft pastel to vibrant purples.

Enys Gardens, Cornwall

Woods around the country will soon be covered with impressive carpets of bluebells. But when it comes to it, none of them can touch the beauty of the meadow found at Enys Gardens in Cornwall.

One of the county’s best hidden secrets, these gardens were lost to time until (check dates). However, the Parc Lye meadow has remained almost entirely undisturbed since ancient times. This means that when the bluebells come out, they form a breathtaking carpet that flows as far as the eye can see.

Even better, during the Bluebell Festival in early May, the gardens have extended opening hours so you can spend even longer admiring the glorious meadow.

The Wye Valley, Wales

A little different from our other entries, the Wye Valley is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) which forms part of the border between England and Wales. And in the spring, this lush river valley truly comes to life.

The tranquil woodlands along the banks of the River Wye are dappled with colour as wildflowers, cherry blossoms, daffodils and bluebells vie for attention. It’s the perfect location for an extended getaway, giving you time to explore some of the scenic walks along this beautiful valley.

Whichever blooms take your fancy, you’re sure to see some amazing vistas full of colour and life on your spring holiday. Don’t forget to pack your camera so that you can capture these beautiful sights before they fade and give way to the flowers of summer.

And make sure to book your getaway soon, or else you might just risk missing these stunning spring blooms altogether.
