As adults, we’re not as fond of the canned variety as we were as children — except for the tomato kind from a can with a grilled cheese sandwich. The two almost have to be served together.
Making a good pot of soup takes time and fresh ingredients, which is something not every parent has in abundance when a hungry child wants lunch immediately. But with some planning and a good recipe at hand, it’s a worthwhile meal at the family dinner table.
One of the best parts? You can make it with your children. It’s also a perfect meal on a cold, winter day.
